I was born in Rochdale, but was quickly ferried to Blackpool at the tender age of one. Always artistic I spent my younger years drawing or imagining dragons, (my dragons name was John, and people would move on the bus so he could sit down) and dreaming about being a fireman. I would stand in the window of the fire station and watch those brave people being brave. I would tell stories to my mum rather than read them at bedtime, and one night at the age of 4 and three quarters I thought of a story of a boy who went under his bed, found a trap door, and climbed down to save an empire from the dark. I then forgot about it for twenty years. The initial two page design of lotsa thins I taped out on computer for university 23years later. Struggling on a idea i remembered the boy under his bed.Only this time there were socks.
